Mosaïek Magazine is happy to announce that the theme of their Spring Issue is BODIES. They are looking for articles and artworks on topics related to bodies, human or otherwise. Feel free to think outside of the box: human bodies, animals, political bodies, etc.

Call for papers UACES/DIMES workshop

The academic association for contemporary European Studies (UACES) is pleased to announce a call for papers for its inaugural Diversity, Inclusion and Multidisciplinarity in European Studies (DIMES) workshop taking place at Leiden University on 5 and 6 March 2020, in conjunction with the European Studies Association of Sub-Saharan Africa.

This event will bring together academics from across the international community to produce outputs that afford visibility to underrepresented perspectives and voices in European Studies.

You can also attend the workshop without presenting.

Data Science research competition 2020

The Institute of Data Science is holding a competition for innovative and interdisciplinary research proposals that use data science to tackle key problems of societal relevance.

An award of €5,000, funded by University Fund Limburg, can be won.

Mosaïek Magazine: fall 2019 issue theme announcement

The theme of this fall’s Mosaïek magazine is ‘Environment[s]’.

The theme Environment[s] can be taken in its broadest sense, from climate change to your own environment, whether cultural, political, and so on. Let the theme inspire you to write about what matters to you.

Call: ESST Undergraduate Essay Prize

The ESST Undergraduate Essay Prize (€500) is awarded annually to the best paper on science, technology and society relations. BA students from all fields of study attending any European university are eligible to apply. Essays should be 2000-3000 words long, in English, and can be about any aspect of science, technology, and society. An international jury decides.

Deadline: 26 July 2019. Further details can be found on the website.

Submissions open for Mosaïek’s spring/summer edition

Mosaïek‘s spring/summer edition is coming out in April and we are currently looking for submissions. If you would like to contribute to the magazine, email us at mosaiek-submissions@maastrichtuniversity.nl.

Need a little inspiration? This edition’s theme is ‘Losing Grounds’. What does this mean? Anything you want it to. Losing grounds does not have to be something negative.

Submissions open for the Kremers Award 2019

The Kremers Award has been set up to commemorate the restructuring activity that took place after the closure of the coal mines in the South Limburg region between 1965 and 2010. The Kremers Prizes will be awarded once every two years for the best research project described in a thesis by a higher education student.

Students (bachelor, master or PhD) are invited to upload their thesis by 31 August. More information can be found on the website.

Submit a thesis for the Dutch Student Union (LSVb) Thesis Award

Have you written, or do you know of a thesis which has been written on Higher Education? If so, submit the thesis for the Landelijke Studenten Vakbond (LSVb) thesis prize. The winning thesis will be discussed in an ‘education cafe’, which takes place in the Senate of the Netherlands (eerste kamer). More information can be found on the website (in Dutch). Theses in English can also be submitted.
