Aline Sierp gives opening keynote at Johns Hopkins SAIS Bologna
Aline Sierp has given the opening keynote at the ‘Perspectives for Europe’ conference at the Johns Hopkins University, SAIS Bologna organised by the Studienstiftung.
She spoke about ‘The European Integration Process – The Role and Impact of History, Memory and Identity’. The keynote was followed by a four day programme in and around Bologna.
Continuation Maastricht Centre for the Innovation of Classical Music
Zuyd University, philharmonie zuidnederland and Maastricht University will continue their collaboration in the Maastricht Centre for the Innovation of Classical Music (MCICM) for the next four years.
Over the past four years, the three partners have already worked together in the MCICM. Financially supported by the Province of Limburg, the partners conducted research into innovations in classical music practice.
Imogen Liu awarded YERUN mobility grant
Imogen Liu has been granted a Research Mobility Award 2022 by the Young European Universities Research Network (YERUN).
The funding will support a one-week stay in the Department of Political Science at the University of Antwerp next year where she will develop her next research project on Chinese financial infrastructures in Europe.
REBUILD – Call for Abstracts on NextGenEU
The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD just published the Call: “Next Generation EU: Furthering Economic, Legal and Fiscal Integration”. Scholars from both law and political economy are welcome to submit their abstract and a short CV by Tuesday 18 October 2022.

Virtual Reality in Teaching: Call for Pilot Projects
The Plant: Playground and Laboratory for New Technologies has partnered with the DEX Lab (Digital Experience Laboratory) at SBE, and together with the other UM faculties they will run a series of pilot projects to explore how can Virtual Reality be effectively used in education.

Ethnography group resumes again for academic year
Do you use ethnographic methods in your research or teaching? Do you want to exchange and discuss experiences with fellow ethnographers?
Consider joining the Ethnography Group!
Since 2013, the Ethnography Group has grown into an interdisciplinary group of over 100 researchers and teachers from Faculties across the university who meet to discuss ethnographic concerns every month, usually the last Thursday of the month from 16.00 – 17.30.

Recently two installations, a workshop and an exhibition from FASoS PhD candidate Luca Vanello have opened.

- Workshop at the 7th PHPCI Conference in Bruges, from 20 September – 23 September 2022
- Installation “ILKE COP & LUCA VANELLO” at Pilar Gallery in Brussels, open until 2 October
- Group exhibition at Maison des arts Georges & Claude Pompidou in Cajarc, France (closed)

Online exhibition: The Archive In Development
The exhibition ‘The Archive in Development’ is now available in an online format, including an audio tour. It is a digital representation of the physical exhibition that was on display at IHLIA until the beginning of May, curated by Noah Littel.
Littel zooms in on snapshots from the history of the Dutch Lesbian Archives, the Documentation Centre for Gay Studies, and the International Information Centre and Archive for the Women’s Movement (IIAV).
