Reminder: vacancy for extraordinary member Assessment Support Team

The Assessment Support Team is looking for an extraordinary member.

The AST provides advice to FASoS staff regarding exam formats and exam content (before an exam is administered). It is also responsible for the faculty’s assessment policy, and for FASoS’s implementation of the new UM vision on assessment.

Its current members are Josje Weusten, John Harbord and Jacob Ward. The team reports to the Faculty Board and is coordinated by Robin Dirix.

Join the FASoS Taskforce on Technology Enhanced Learning

FASoS has recently set up a new taskforce that will provide strategic direction on matters related to technology enhanced learning and facilitate the conversation about the future of technology and learning at FASoS. The taskforce will look at these issues from a general conceptual level, the level of instructional design and the level of practical matters.

We are currently looking for an additional teaching staff member to join the taskforce.

89 Netherlands and Studio Europa Maastricht seek research officers

89 Netherlands, based at Maastricht University, and Studio Europa Maastricht have launched two calls for research officers (master’s students and PhD researchers at UM) to join their programmes.

They seek 5 officers per programme who will focus on research related to Climate or Democracy. This opportunity offers students the chance to work on themes aligned with their research and gain experience translating their findings into policy advice.

The main task of an Educational Programme Committee (EPC) is to monitor and evaluate the quality of the programme(s) it is linked to. Every EPC consists of a Chair, academic staff members and student members, and has an equal representation of staff and students.

Call for applications: Research Programme Director AMC

The FASoS Faculty Board invites applications to become the Research Programme Director of Arts, Media and Culture (AMC) for the period from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2023. Applicants should be senior researchers with national and international recognition, preferably a professor, and be familiar with Dutch and international research policies.

Global Studies is looking for mentors

In 2021/2022 we are welcoming our second cohort of Global Studies. Because of the great interest in the programme, we are looking for new mentors!

GS students have their own mentor and we’ll try to match students to a suitable role model. During their entire programme, so for 3 years, we would like for the student and mentor to have a meeting or call quite regularly during the period of September to May.

Teaching hours: 9 hours per student.
