Debate Café: EU Security and Defence Policy, on 5 December

Europe finds itself in – as the Americans say – a perfect storm. Is Europe still safe and secure? On Monday 5 December, 20.00, at Bookshop Dominicanen, a Debate Café organised by E.S.A. Concordantia, the United Nations Student Association and Studium Generale, will discuss the challenges that lie ahead. Free entrance. Amongst the panellists are FASoS staff members Hylke Dijkstra and Petar Petrov.

Panelists: Hylke Dijkstra – Assistant Professor in Political Science, Andrea Ott – Associate Professor of European Union Law and Petar Petrov – Assistant Professor in International Relations and EU Foreign and Security Policy.

Moderator: Vigjilenca Abazi, Assistant Professor EU constitutional & institutional Law

What do all the recent political events mean for Europe’s security? Is it time for one European army? Can that idea really work in practice? Is Mogherini’s two-speed defense idea going to work? Does Europe needs Germany to take the lead? Does Europe need stricter border control and policies? Join this Debate Café and discuss with a panel of experts the challenges that lie ahead.
