The Faculty Board of FASoS held three meetings on 2, 16 and 30 September. For an overview of the decisions and announcements, please read below.
Decisions
• The Faculty Board has approved the Faculty’s administrative calendar 2015/2016. You can find this document at My FASoS, on the bottom of the Faculty Board page.
• This academic year educational coaches have been introduced: Pablo Del Hierro and Annelies Jacobs will coach newly appointed teaching assistants.
• Valentina Mazzucato has been appointed as FASoS member of the UM InnerCity Research Ethical Committee; Thomas Christiansen is a deputy-member.
• Cyrus Mody has joined the Faculty Research Panel. The other members are Christine Neuhold (chair), Frederic Bouder and Aagje Swinnen.
• Wiebe Bijker has been appointed as the confidential advisor for PhD candidates.
• The Board approved the FASoS multi-annual budget 2016-2020.
• In January 2016 FASoS Bachelor ES students and staff will participate in EuroSim, which takes place in Antwerp. EuroSim is an annual transatlantic simulation of the European Union that brings together students from many colleges in the North-Eastern United States and Europe. The Board has given a subsidy of €3,300.
Announcements
• Four students, two bachelor and two master graduates, have been nominated for the student prizes 2015 of SWUM (Stichting Wetenschapsbeoefening UM). The SWUM will announce their names later this year.
