Workshop on Network Building and Publication Strategy
The first part of the workshop is dedicated to the topic of international network building (building research consortia) to facilitate larger international grant applications. Renée van de Vall and Lies Wesseling will share their experiences and address issues such as international differences in academic culture and how they influence the co-writing of grant proposals, and how to negotiate with different partners about the content of grant proposals and the division of tasks.
During the second part of the workshop, Ben de Bruyn and Raf de Bont will talk about how they choose their publication venues, how they increase their international visibility by publishing strategically, how they position themselves as interdisciplinary researchers through their publications, and to what extent they opt for open access publications.
Audience members are invited to contribute actively to the discussions so that we can learn from each other’s mistakes as well as success stories.
