Assignment design workshop, with Patrick Bijsmans and Mirko Reithler
NEW DATE: Tuesday 28 April, 14.00 – 17.00, via Zoom
This online workshop looks at one of the most challenging aspects of PBL course development, namely assignment design. Ahead of the workshop, participants will be asked to read related literature and distribute one of their own assignments. After a joint discussion of do’s and don’ts in PBL assignment design, we will take a very hands-on perspective by having participants work on improving each other’s assignments. This workshop will be particularly interesting to colleagues who are in the process of (re-)designing courses.
Worth 4 CPD hours (including required preparation). Please sign up here.
Advanced feedback workshop, with John Harbord
NEW DATE: Wednesday 29 April 2020, 11.00 – 13.00, via Zoom
This online workshop builds on John’s previous feedback workshops on 27 November and 4 March. It aims to get you to think about the aims of assessment, both summative and formative, what is to be assessed and how it can be assessed, including assessment of, for and as learning. In addition, you will experience self-assessment and consider its value for students. This workshop is open to all colleagues interested in learning more about providing students with effective feedback, but will be particularly worthwhile for (future) course coordinators.
Worth 2 CPD hours. Please sign up here.
