FASoS ethnography group resumes activities on 12 May

The FASoS ethnography group is being revived. Meetings will take place on a monthly basis, on a Thursday afternoon. However, the first meeting will be a ‘bring your own lunch’ on Thursday 12 May, 12.00-13.00 (room to be confirmed). If you are interested in joining the meeting, or would like to be added on the mailing list, please contact Anna Harris or Annika Richterich.

The idea of the ethnography group is to meet and discuss shared research experiences, read ethnographic texts, have walking seminars in the countryside and workshops in our own kitchens, as well as focus on the writing process and any other areas of interest.

We hope that as many of you as possible can make it to the first meeting. The main agenda for the first meeting is to decide together what we would like to do as a group. We have planned the first meeting to take place on the day after Tim Ingold’s public lecture (11 May, 20.00 at the Van Eyck Academy, see other announcement for more details). As Tim Ingold has written a lot about the nature of ethnography, it seemed like it would be a great opportunity to also reflect on his talk together, while we plan what we want to discuss and do ethnographically.

Please contact either Anna Harris or Annika Richterich if you have any questions. If you will be coming to future meetings, but can’t make it on 12 May, please let us know and we will put you on the list.
