FASoS lectures for Master students in October by UM Career Services

UM Career Services organises lectures for all Master students (a separate lecture series will be organised for European Studies Master students):

  • Wednesday 17 October 15.30 – 16.30: “Exploring the labour market”
  • Wednesday 31 October 09.00 – 10.00: “Entering the labour market”

Due to the limited availability of seats, early registration is strongly recommended.

Wednesday 17 October 15:30-16:30: Lecture “Exploring the labour market”
Networking has become increasingly important in exploring today’s labour market and in supporting your first steps from university into the job market. Networking skills are essential to get detailed information about the job market, openings and possibilities. In this lecture you will learn about the basic principles of personal networking. In addition, you will also get an introduction into LinkedIn, an essential online networking tool and a great place to post your online C.V.

Wednesday 31 October 09:00-10:00: Lecture “Entering the labour market”
What does a good job application letter look like and what should you state in your CV and more importantly what not? When your letter and CV lead up to an invitation for a job interview, you have to prepare for this next exciting step. What kind of questions can you expect during a job interview? In this lecture you will get information on how to structure your CV and letter of application, and also the most important ins and outs of the job interview will be discussed.  

All lectures take place at the Student Services Centre, Karl Dittrich lecture hall, Bonnefantenstraat 2.
