The next UM valorisation lunch session will take place on Thursday 18 June, 12.30-13.30, this time with a focus on special chairs. Hans Schmeets, UM special professor of social statistics, has worked for Statistics Netherlands (SN) for over 20 years. As programme manager Hans Schmeets has been involved in numerous projects, resulting in over 200 publications in the field of social cohesion, elections and political participation, volunteering work, ethnic minorities, religion, trust, values, living conditions and survey methodology, including measures to increase response rates and to reduce nonresponse bias. Currently, he is responsible for the statistical research and the dissemination of statistical information on a wide range of topics related to social cohesion and wellbeing within the department of Statistical Analysis (60 employees, of which the majority holds a PhD-degree) of the Division Social and Spatial Statistics.
The focus of the session is on practices of cooperation between UM and SN. There will be room for discussion and asking questions about the practices and opportunities for joint research.
At the session you will also be informed on the UM valorisation infrastructure, support and initiatives, leaving room for questions and discussion.
