Internship opportunity: curriculum design in ES, IR and Politics

Are you interested in working with FASoS researchers and getting hands-on research experience? Then we (Patrick Bijsmans & Johan Adriaensen) may just have the thing for you.

We are looking for a research intern to assist us in creating a comprehensive database on curricula in European Studies, International Relations and Politics. This is a full-time, regular 5th semester internship, worth 24 ECTS.

The design of a curriculum not only affects the learning that can take place within the confines of a course, but it is also responsible for the administrative and coordinative challenges that beguile the involved teaching staff. Our project aims to understand the motives (whether they be pedagogical, economic, institutional or pragmatic) that guide curriculum design as well as the effects of curriculum design on fostering effective learning environments.

This is a full-time (i.e. 16-week) 5th semester internship, worth 24 ECTS. You will get first-hand insights into how research in the field of teaching and learning is conducted, learn about contemporary debates in the field, and will be acquainted with the basic methods and tools of building and using large databases in research.

The internship begins in September 2020, though suggestions to start earlier will be considered. Interested? Please send a motivation email, including a short CV and your latest grade transcript to by Friday 10 July.
