My name is Astrid Cats and I recently joined FASoS as a junior researcher in the field of cultural education. The study concerns the relevance of cultural education in primary school for the development of so-called 21st century skills in children. In addition to my work at FASoS, I work as a cultural entrepreneur and researcher based in Eindhoven. I am particularly interested in the political potency of art and art organisations in respect of current social challenges, such as the diversity of gender identities, crip perspectives and the current refugee crisis. Cultural inclusion is my key priority.
As I completed both a Bachelor and Master programme at FASoS (Arts and Culture, Arts and Heritage), I have had the pleasure to meet many inspiring people in this faculty before. I am looking forward to meeting more colleagues and to learn more from each of you in the near future.
