Introducing: Iona Goldie-Scot

My name is Iona Goldie-Scot and I recently joined the Literature and Art department. I am a PhD candidate within the research programme ‘New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art’ (NACCA), a Marie Curie Innovative Training Network.

The focus of my present research is the potential use of audience participation for the documentation and conservation of performance-based artworks, with the goal of developing a documentation method accommodating future re-execution.

I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, and worked previously in art sales and publishing. I am completely new to Maastricht, having moved from London in January 2016, and look forward to getting to know it better. I am particularly excited about the development of my project over the next couple of years.
