Introducing: Jiaqi Liang

Hi everyone, my name is Jiaqi Liang and I am from China. This is my first year at FASoS as a PhD candidate.

My research interests revolve around the connection between dark heritage/difficult heritage and human well-being. I am delighted to be able to discuss this subject with those who are interested. I’m also looking forward to visiting various museums and heritage sites in Europe related to this topic with you.

Dark heritage/difficult heritage recognises and acknowledges that heritage is diverse and controversial. How people can remember history while also being concerned with both human and historical reflection is something that interests me. I also want to learn how individuals can confront the dark heritage/difficult heritage in an open, socially and culturally communicative way. In the meantime, I am also interested in museum management and development, as well as tourist translation.

I hold a dual Master’s degree in Museum and Heritage Development from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom and Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in Foreign Languages from Beijing Language and Culture University in China.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me! Looking forward to meeting you.
