Introducing: Kevin Fuchs

Hey everybody, my name is Kevin Fuchs, and starting next week I will join the BSc Global Studies team as Field Work Coordinator.

I’m very excited to be returning to Maastricht, as I am originally from this region. I will be moving back from Enschede, where I worked as Student Support Officer at Twente Pathway College, working with students from all around the world and preparing them for their Bachelor degree at University of Twente.

After finishing my Bachelor of European Studies (at Zuyd) I studied my Master of International Affairs and Administration at Missouri State University, followed by a Master of Education at Framingham State University. As you can see, I have a lot of affinity with the Global Studies program.

I worked in international education for many years, as teacher, study adviser and college counsellor. During my last teaching position I was the IB Global Politics teacher at an IB school in Mexico City, where I also worked as the College Counsellor. I was involved in a Latin American College Counsellor Network, and worked with many international counsellors to help our students apply at universities around the world and share knowledge.

This week, I will conclude my current job as Student Support Officer at Twente Pathway College, which gave me a chance to work with over 500 students from all around the world and help them adjust to the academic environment of the Netherlands, and particularly at the University of Twente.

I’m very excited to be back in Maastricht and looking forward to meet you all.
