Introducing: Maria Kvarving

Hi there, I’m Maria Kvarving. I’m from Norway and I’m excited to start my new role as a teaching fellow for the Global Studies BSc.

Earlier this year, I finished my MSc in Legal Psychology at UM’s Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience and before that, I completed my MA in Psychology at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

My academic interests are very diverse and range from psychology and anthropology to law and political science.

In August 2021, I moved to Maastricht, where my spouse and I live currently, so I could complete my MSc. Before that I lived in Scotland and I grew up in Norway, which has given me a profound appreciation for cultural diversity and travel.

I really enjoy working outside and gardening, so I have recently begun volunteering with the Tapijntuin which is an an organic city garden in Tapijnkazerne, near Stadspark.

When I am not working or volunteering, I am probably running and walking around Maastricht and its sourroundings or I am bouldering at Radium. I also enjoy baking, reading a good book and being creative.

I am looking forward to meeting all my FASoS colleagues!
