Hi everyone! I’m Tara, and I have started as Teaching Fellow in the BSc Global Studies.
I hold a BA in International Studies from Leiden University, with a specialisation in African Studies.
I have recently graduated from the MA Globalisation and Development Studies here at FASoS. For my thesis, I carried out fieldwork research, investigating faith-based organisations as development agents in the context of xenophobia in South Africa.
My bachelor’s thesis investigated how forced displacement resulting from Anglophone secession efforts affects Cameroon – Nigeria bilateral relations.
I took time off before pursuing a master’s degree to earn a teaching certificate for teaching English as a foreign language, having thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a volunteer teacher and ‘buddy’ for asylum seekers in The Hague during my bachelor’s.
I’m looking forward to meeting all my new colleagues!
