Deadline extended: represent FASoS at EuroSim 2020

If you have missed the first round, there is still a chance to be part of EuroSim 2020. Send your application by Monday 28 October 12.00 to j.stankovic@maastrichtuniversity.nl.

EuroSim is an international EU simulation with students from European and American universities. The topic of negotiations is EU sanctions policy/restrictive measures and regulations.

EuroSim takes place from Sunday 5 January to Thursday 9 January 2020 in Antwerp.

In the past years, our students always did an excellent job. Last year, our team was awarded one of the 5 awards and it was a highly rewarding experience for them. You can find impressions from EuroSim on our Facebook page.

Team FASoS at EuroSim 2020 – what does it entail, what is expected from you?

  • Your job is to represent FASoS during this simulation in the best manner possible; to be motivated, well prepared, and behave professionally. During the past few years, FASoS students did an excellent job during this simulation event, and we of course hope to be able to keep up this excellent tradition.
  • As part of the FASoS team, you will prepare the simulation by reading up on the EU sanctions policy/restrictive measures and regulations and, together with your fellow representatives, prepare for the simulation in a number of meetings (in November and December).
  • We are looking for motivated students (second year, third year and pre-master) with a professional attitude and who want to learn more about EU negotiations.
  • Nine students and one staff member will go to Antwerp to represent FASoS during this four-day simulation event.
  • Accommodation, meals and registration costs will be covered by our Faculty Board.
  • We should ensure that during our trip we miss as little educational activities as possible, but this activity will be exempted from the usual attendance rules.

How to apply:

  • Send a motivation letter (max 1 page), outlining why you would be the best candidate to represent FASoS in these negotiations.
  • A position paper (max 500 words) on the topic: please elaborate your position on EU’s restrictive measures (on Russia or Iran).
  • Attach your CV and an overview of your grades (a screenshot will suffice).
  • Send your application to j.stankovic@maastrichtuniversity.nl with the subject line ‘EuroSim 2020’.
  • Deadline: Monday 28 October, 12.00.
  • The best applicants will be invited for a short interview to take place on Wednesday 30 October.

Please feel free to be in touch about any questions that you might have.

Best wishes,
Jelena Stankovic
FASoS EuroSim Coordinator
