Iskander de Bruycker has published an open access article together with Frederik Stevens (University of Antwerp) in European Union Politics titled ‘Influence, affluence and media salience‘.
The article examines how wealthy lobby groups benefit from a silent media. The authors argue and show that media attention & public scrutiny of EU policy issues can counterbalance the role of economic resources for political influence.
Iskander and Frederik have published a corresponding blog post on this topic in the LSE EUROPP blog.
