Around this time last year, many of you have changed their password. The UM passwords need to be changed once a year, so in the upcoming weeks you will be reminded to change the password again.
Note: Your password is and always will be strictly yours and cannot be shared with anybody. UM will therefore never ask you for your password by e-mail, phone or other media.
We noticed many people who are working from home are having troubles getting the new password to synchronise with their UM-laptops and computers resulting in them needing to login on the computer with the old password. Below you can find the correct way how to change your password and to prevent this from happening.
We recommend you only change your password using MyAccount.
Students:
- Change your password via MyAccount
Employee on VDI and students using Student Desktop Anywhere:
- Login on VDI/SDA
- Change your password via MyAccount
- Logout of VDI/SDA
- Wait for 5 minutes
- Log in on VDI/SDA again with your new password
Employee connected to VPN using UM-PC or –laptop (Windows):
- Login on your computer
- Start VPN and login
- Change your password via MyAccount
- Disconnect the VPN connection and reconnect using the new password
- Press CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard and click on “LOCK”
- You will see the logon screen appear. Press any key to open the credential input fields.
