Join the festive opening of the FASoS garden!

On Wednesday 5 October at 15.30, we will festively open the FASoS garden (at the back of FASoS, in front of the parking lot). Enjoy a drink and a bite served by Bandito, stroll through the garden, and hear all about the plans we still have to make the garden even more enjoyable.

We are very grateful to the faculty for having covered the basic costs of transforming the concrete space behind FASoS into a garden. To be able to decorate the garden with, for example, benches and insect hotels, we will be officially launching a crowdfunding project during the opening of the garden.

With your donation, we will be able to make the garden even more enjoyable. And we have a fun surprise for all donors: when you donate, you will receive FASoS goodies, such as a temporary tattoo, a mug, or your name on the Garden Wall of Fame. You can make a donation via this link. You will also be able to donate during the opening.

Besides the crowdfunding, we will also be selling IT equipment to raise money for our garden. We will be selling:

  • 10 iMacs with keyboard and mouse (€300 each)
  • 10 Desktops with screen, keyboard and mouse (€30 each)
  • 5 Desktops with keyboard and mouse (€20 each)
  • 1 projector (€20)
  • 20 Speakers (€10 each)

All proceeds will go towards the garden. If you would like to purchase an item, please send an email to They will let you know how to pay and when you can pick up your equipment. First come, first served!

To make FASoS more sustainable, the FASoS Green Impact team of 2020, consisting of FASoS staff Sjoerd Stoffels and John Harbord and FASoS students Hanne Schäfer and Charlotte Lenhard, came up with ‘project FASoS green space’. The aim of the project was to convert the “barren concrete space” at the back of FASoS into “a sustainable green space that will provide a pleasant space for students and staff to collaborate on work, relax and walk peacefully.” The project was realised last academic year and we will continue to improve the garden in the years to come.
