MaRBLe projects for motivated 3rd year students

Third year bachelor’s students of ES, AC and CW can apply for the MaRBLe projects in periods 4 and 5. These projects are offered to excellent students: the top 25% based on GPA have received a personal invitation. However, if you do not belong to that category but are highly motivated and not seriously behind in your studies, you might be admitted as well. On the FASoS MaRBLe website you can find more information and the brochure.

The Dutch national Department of Education has funded this university to launch a wide variety of small scale research projects (7-12 students each) under the name of MaRBLe (Maastricht Research Based Learning) within the bachelor’s programme, to encourage students to engage in academic research.

These projects take place in the 4th and 5th periods of the third year and replace other parts of the programme. In this they differ from the Honours Programme which is on top of the regular programme. In principle, they are meant for students belonging to the best 25% of the programme who are not seriously behind their studies. This group will be invited directly.

However, students not belonging to the top 25% might be selected as well, if they are highly motivated. Those students should write a letter of motivation explaining why they want to participate in the project.

You will find further information about MaRBLe and the projects you can choose from in the brochure in the attachment. If you are interested, you have to enrol before 4 December by mailing your letter of motivation to Pieter Caljé (pieter.calje@maastrichtuniversity.nl).

This option is open to international ES and AC students as well as students from the Dutch-language CW programme.
