Marble projects for motivated third year students

The Dutch national Department of Education has funded this university to launch a wide variety of small scale research projects (5-12 students each) under the name of MARBLE (Maastricht Research Based Learning) within the bachelor’s programme, to encourage students to engage in academic research. These projects take place in the 4th and 5th periods of the third year and replace other parts of the programme. In this they differ from the Honours Programme which is on top of the regular programme. In principle, they are meant for students belonging to the best 25% of the programme who are not seriously behind their studies. This group will be invited directly. However, students not belonging to the best 25% might be selected as well, if they are highly motivated. Those students should write a letter of motivation explaining why they want to participate in the project. You will find further information about Marble and the projects you can choose from in the brochure in the attachment. If you are interested, you have to enrol before 24 November by mailing your letter of motivation to me (Pieter.calje@maastrichtuniversity.nl ). This option is open to international ES and AC students as well as to students from the Dutch-language CW programme.
