Mareike Smolka co-authored the article “From Affect to Action: Choices in Attending to Disconcertment in Interdisciplinary Collaborations” with Erik Fisher from Arizona State University and Alexandra Hausstein from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology for the journal Science, Technology, & Human Values.
Based on three studies in Socio-Technical Integration Research (STIR), the authors analyse how paying attention to disconcertment can open up possibilities for productive engagements across socio-technical divides. The authors provide analytical and methodological resources for examining unruly affects and the role of the body in qualitative research and interdisciplinary collaborations.
