The television programme ‘Universiteit van Nederland‘ features free online lectures given by scientists (in Dutch). New lectures are published every day and each week revolves around a new theme. Merel Noorman recently delivered a lecture on traffic in the future titled ‘Who is responsible when there is an accident involving a self-driving car?’ The lecture will be available online on Thursday 23 March at 20.30.
Imagine you are in a self-driving car and that car makes a mistake causing a horrible accident: who is responsible? Merel looks at his question from a philosophical perspective.
