Group work workshop: 10 OR 23 November

Group work can be a valuable experience for students, helping them to gain new skills and learn from each other. For teaching staff however, it can be challenging to keep track of what is happening and to facilitate the process in the best way. This is even more true when group work is conducted partially or wholly online, or remotely from the supervisor. In this online workshop, Jonathan van Tilburg will talk you through the important elements that need consideration when using group work and the various assessment tools you could use to stimulate better engagement and learning. This session will provide an open setting where teaching staff can share experiences and take away practical ideas for going forward. The registration form and other information can be found here.

Using videos in teaching and learning workshop: 18 AND 25 November

Together with the University Library, EDLAB is offering a two-part series on using Videos in Education: From Concept to Finished Product. In the first online session (18 November) you will learn about different video formats and effective video design (linking this with the learning outcomes of your course). We will go through the entire video production process, including scripting and some filming tips and tricks. The second session (25 November) will be offered face-to-face at EDLAB where you will be guided by an expert through the basics of video-editing. The registration form and other information can be found here.
