The MSc thesis by Lea Smidt, alumna of the MSc European Studies (Research), has been shortlisted among the top six theses nominated for the prestigious Daniel Heinsius Prize for best MA thesis in political science (awarded by the Dutch and Belgian Political Science Associations).
Congratulations to Lea and her supervisors Dr Luana Russo (UM) and Prof Sven-Oliver Proksch (Cologne University).
The full title of the shortlisted MSc ES thesis is: “Can Civil Society be Socially Engineered? The Influence of EU Democracy Aid on Civic Participation in Africa”. The prize winner will be announced at the Politicologenetmaal in Antwerp, on Thursday 13 June 2019. Fingers crossed for Lea!
