Abstract:
For three decades after WWII, conservative American religious groups attempted to influence Europe over the public airwaves. The current paper examines the origins, obstacles, and final outcomes of the postwar evangelical movement to reach Europe through the use of popular mass media. The paper assesses how missionary radio formed part of the Cold War configuration, Americanization, and globalization of the continent.
