myPrint: New printers

In mid-January 2015 new multifunctional printers (MFPs) from Ricoh will be installed in all FASoS buildings. This means that there will be a few changes regarding printing, copying and scanning. Please read below for more information.

What will change?
• You will be able to print from mobile devices and from home
• You can get your printouts at any UM MFP using your UMcard
• All MFPs will print and copy in colour as well as black and white and will scan (with text recognition if desired)
• The new printers will be more environmentally sustainable and cost-effective

What do you need to do?
The first time you use the new printers, you need to register your UMcard at one of the MFPs. Easy instructions on registration will be available at each MFP.

Why are we changing these services?

• Because our current printing services no longer meet present-day requirements
• Because students have indicated in various surveys that they were dissatisfied with the printing services
• Because the new printing services will decrease printing costs at UM
• Because sustainability is a high priority at UM, and these devices are more environmentally friendly (partly because, with the new collection system, printouts will no longer be left behind in the trays).

More information?
At www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/myprint you can find detailed instructions for printing, scanning and copying, view the FAQs and more. When a new MFP is installed, the Ricoh engineer will be happy to show you how to use the new machine.

The new printers will no longer be managed by General & Technical Services, but by ICTS. The ICTS Service Desk can be reached at 043 3885555. More contact information.
