During the ‘Bessensap‘ conference on 10 June, Nantke Pecht gave a presentation about ‘Citéduits – a language as no other’. Pecht investigates the construction of social identities through language practices among speakers of the former coal miners’ district of Tuinwijk, the cité. Maastricht University has created a short film about her research.
The annual Bessensap conference is organised by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) together with the Dutch Association of Science Journalists (VWN) and brings together around 400 journalists, press officers and researchers in the Netherlands.
