Network event ‘Network Historical Culture Landscape’, on 1 November

The board of the Network Historical Culture Landscape (Dutch: Netwerk Historisch Cultuurlandschap) invites you to their yearly network event, on Friday 1 November from 9.30 – 16.00.

This year’s topic is ‘the Meuse and its works’ and it takes place in Sint Agatha, near Cuijk. The event costs €45 for staff and €25 for students. You can register here.

Due to the flooding of January 1995, the Province of Limburg and the ministries of Transport and Water Management and Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality decided in 1997 to start the ‘Maasproject’. The realisation that something fundamental had to happen emerged: the capacity of the Meuse had to be enlarged, flooding areas should be made and ground should be moved. Much research preceded this.

During the network event, the plans, progress, results of the research, and future tasks will be discussed.

You can find the programme of the day here.
