New director Centre for Gender and Diversity

On 1 September 2022, Lies Wesseling will step down as the director of the Centre for Gender and Diversity, to be succeeded by Eliza Steinbock.

Steinbock’s focus will be on knowledge valorisation and intra- and interfaculty collaboration.

Over the past 10 years, Wesseling has mainly focused on the internationalisation of the Centre’s research and events, in line with the imperatives of the peer review panels that evaluated the CGD every five years.

The CGD has hosted an impressive series of international conferences and workshops, amongst which the inaugural conferences of the the European Network for Aging Studies, the 21st biennial conference of the International Research Society for Children’s Literature, two workshops of the Research Network on the role of Gender in Antisemitism and Islamophobia, the summer school for Gender and Religion, etc.
