New Tenure Track Policy for Assistant Professors

Following the consent of the Faculty Council, the Faculty Board has formally adopted the Faculty’s new tenure track policy for assistant professors, including a supplement on guidance and development.

The new policy document outlines the selection procedure, the criteria for appointment to a tenure track position and the appointment process. Secondly, it defines the tenure process itself. The supplement outlines the guidance and support during the process (including the role of a mentor).
In line with the ambition of the Strategic Plan to increase the percentage of permanent staff, the new policy implies that newly recruited assistant professors who fulfil the predefined criteria receive tenure at the start of the sixth year of their appointment.
