NWO ORA call for proposals to open this autumn

The Open Research Area in Europe (ORA) partners are pleased to announce that they expect the 4th joint call for proposals to open this autumn. In contrast to last round, the National Science Foundation of the USA will no longer participate. This change means that the countries France (ANR), Germany (DFG), The Netherlands (NWO) and the United Kingdom (ESRC) are participating in the 4th ORA call. The closing date is Thursday 15 January 2015.

Proposals will be accepted for research projects in any area of the social sciences involving researchers from any combination of two or more of the participating countries (excluding bilateral applications from French-German teams).

In this call the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) will be collaborating with ORA as an associate partner and applicants to the ORA Joint Call may seek partnerships with Japanese researchers. Japanese projects associated with ORA proposals are encouraged to submit proposals to this call for funding. JSPS will open a specific call for Japanese researchers. Further information will be provided with the call.

ORA remains a very popular scheme, and the partners will announce some measures to manage demand in the Call for Proposals, which will be published on this website in September 2014.

For the fourth ORA call, ANR will be the lead agency. It is anticipated the call for proposals will be made available at the end of September via a dedicated address on the ANR website.
