NWO Programme MAGW Research Talent: FASoS selection procedure

NWOlogoAre you a professor in our faculty and have you spotted talented social sciences students in the master’s programmes? Then the NWO funding programme Research Talent might be for you! Find out more about the procedure and click on ‘Read more’.

NWO Research Talent offers talented upcoming researchers the opportunity to fulfil their ambitions of pursuing their scientific careers through a three-year PhD research project. NWO has published the call for this programme on its website: www.nwo.nl.

Maastricht University is allowed to nominate a total of 10 applications from FASoS and five other UM faculties related to the behavioural and social sciences (FPN, SBE, FL, FHS, FHML). FASoS is allowed to nominate and rank 3 candidates for further consideration by the Faculty Board. The Faculty Board prioritizes one of these three proposals, which are then sent to the Executive Board of the UM. The Executive Board of the UM decides which proposals are to be submitted to NWO. NWO evaluates and decides who will actually receive a grant. FASoS has set up an internal faculty selection procedure for submitting the proposals to the UM Executive Board, who make the final selection. Candidates from FASoS who want to apply for a NWO Research Talent grant should follow the selection procedure below. The procedure is intended not only for selecting the candidates but also to help ensure that they submit the best possible applications. Note that candidates are to submit the first worked out proposals by 21 October 2013.
