Open call for EPC member BSc Global Studies: deadline extended

We are looking for a FASoS representative to serve on the Educational Programme Committee (EPC) for the new inter-faculty BSc Global Studies.

Interested candidates are invited to send a CV and a short motivation letter/email to fransje.muijsken@maastrichtuniversity.nl. The application deadline is up to and including Monday 6 April.

The main task of an Educational Programme Committee representative is to monitor and evaluate the quality of the programme(s) it is linked to. Every EPC consists of a Chair, academic staff members and student members, and has an equal representation of staff and students. The BA EPCs at FASoS meet seven to nine times per year.

General Members take part in all EPC meetings. They will prepare opinion statements according to the agenda and underlying documentation of every meeting, present reasoned arguments and views during the discussions, advise on the advantages and disadvantages of certain courses of action, and provide input for the EPC advices and reports.

For the Global Studies EPC we are looking for one member of each faculty. The selected candidate is expected to start on 1 September 2020, and will be appointed for a period of one year. The remuneration for this position will be according to the faculty standards.

Once the Global Studies EPC has been formed, a chair will be elected among the members.

Interested candidates are invited to send a CV and a short motivation letter/email by Monday 6 April to fransje.muijsken@maastrichtuniversity.nl.

The staff members who are currently on the Faculty Councils of the respective faculties will review the applications of their own faculty. The Faculty Councils can make a nomination to the FASoS Faculty Board, who will review the nomination and if approved appoint the members. New EPC members will be invited to a UM training session by EDLAB at the start of the academic year.
