Last week we expanded the poetry contest to include photos, paintings and drawings. We received many beautiful works of art.
This week we share a drawing by Jehian Leupen, from the BA European Studies. He calls the piece ‘Fleeting Moments’, under his pen name ‘clownpla_by_jeb’.
It depicts two sailors having a good ol’ time. It represents chaos, but not the same chaos from this pandemic. Instead, the chaos comes from pure tomfoolery; an element in which positive emotions are warped but remain present. How we see it may depend on our own current emotions. Jehian himself drew it with sadness but now sees it in a more humorous way. Confused, sad, happy, melancholic, whatever it may be, he hopes it resonates with whoever sees it.
