Pieter Caljé knighted in the Order of Orange Nassau

Associate professor Pieter Caljé has been knighted in the Order of Orange Nassau for his scientific efforts and his contributions to society. Caljé received the decorations that come with this distinction from Jim Janssen, the deputy-mayor of Maastricht. Maastricht University and FASoS would like to congratulate Pieter Caljé with this special Royal distinction.

In addition to his education and research activities at UM, Pieter Caljé has been a board member and a publicist at the Limburg Historical and Archaeological Society (LGOG in Dutch) for many years. He regularly volunteers at RTV Maastricht and he was the co-founder and co-chair of the Grensschap Lanaken. He also has been a board member for the neighbourhood council of Oud-Caberg for more than 30 years.
