During the last academic year, a group of dedicated colleagues has worked on the revision of the specialisations in the master’s Arts and Culture. A new ‘Grand narrative’ was written and a tightly scheduled Plan of Action was followed in order to present the revision plans for the master’s programme to the UM Executive Board last September.
The hard work of everyone involved in this process has payed off!
On 14 September, the UM Executive Board approved the proposed revision plans for the master’s Arts and Culture.
This wonderful news means that the revision team can go ahead with the development of new educational content. From September 2022 onwards, we hope to welcome new students to a freshly revised master’s Arts and Culture with 3 specialisations:
- Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education / Kunst en Erfgoed: Beleid, Management en Educatie
- Contemporary Literature and Arts: Cultural Interventions and Social Justice
- Modern Political Culture: Ideas and Discourses in Context
We very much would like to thank all staff involved in this team effort: the Faculty Board for her guidance and leadership; the Educational Programme Committee of this master’s for her constructive feedback and strong cooperation with the revision group; and the Educational Development and Policy cluster for its guidance in the governance process.
More specifically we thank the revision team members who have thought out, and will continue developing the new master’s programme: Vivian van Saaze, Camilo Erlichmann, Manuel Stoffers, Georgi Verbeeck, Darian Meacham, Christin Hone, Aagje Swinnen, Miriam Meissner, Louis van den Hengel and Peter Peters. We wish them positive spirits in the further development of the master’s specialisations this academic year.
