SG Lecture: Human Rights in an Unequal World: a Luxury or a Necessity?

At the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we take the opportunity to raise some questions about the past, the present and the future of Human Rights. Is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the end of the beginning, or actually the beginning of the end of Human Rights?

Studium Generale Lecture
Speaker: Prof. Jean-Paul Lehners

When: Monday 10 December, 20.00.
Where: Auditorium, MBB4-6.

Jean-Paul Lehners will plead for a new historiography of Human Rights, insisting on their contextualisation. He will also look at some new topics linked to Human Rights, like social equality, transgender issues or climate change.

Jean-Paul Lehners is Professor of Global History and Holder of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights at the University of Luxembourg.
