The Eurozone crisis started to unfold in the European Union from 2009 onwards. Several Eurozone member states were unable to repay or refinance their government debt or to bail out over-indebted banks. Former President of the Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, attended all the meetings in search of solutions.
