Share your advice on scientific funding with the Dutch government

Together with Populytics, De Jonge Akademie is organising an online consultation to give all researchers the chance to join the discussion on the division of research funding and to bring out advice to politicians.

Should more money be given to permanent contracts, excellent researchers or research in teams?

Share your advice on the future of Dutch science funding with politicians and university boards up until 1 July 2022 via this link.

The online environment simulaties the questions that the government is facing. Participants are given 11 options that the government could spend money on. Per option participants can indicate how much of the budget should be assigned.

Participants have the opportunity to motivate their choices and add nuances. Furthermore, participants can give advice unrelated to funding on changes that could improve the field of science.

The advice method used is ‘Participatieve Waarde Evaluatie’ (PWE), which has been developed by Dutch scientists for climate policy and corona measures. For these topics, 30.000 people shared their advice within the timespan of one week.
