Smoking policy at FASoS: may we have your opinion?

FASoS would like to establish a smoking policy for outdoor areas that will create a pleasant work and study environment for smokers and non-smokers alike. Please let us know your opinion. Read below for more information.

According to Dutch law smoking inside public buildings is prohibited, but the law doesn’t provide clear guidelines for outdoor areas.

We propose that smoking is allowed at all outdoor areas except in areas designated as non-smoking. We have made a proposal for the non-smoking areas (see map). In our proposal all areas near entrances are smoke-free to enable non-smokers to enter a building without having to walk through smoke. That means the smoking areas near the Turnzaal entrance and back entrance (stairs) of 80-82 will be discontinued. An alternative smoking area could be created near GG76 (see map).

A discussion point is the terrace in the garden near Bandito. Should it be smoke free/half smoke free or a smoking area?

Please let us know what you think of our proposal, and which areas you think should be smoke free or smoking areas. We will add your thoughts to our proposal and present the result to the board who will decide about it.

Thank you on behalf of the FASoS Facility Team
