Summer internship opportunity at The Fund for American Studies

Through the generosity of the Netherland-America Foundation, The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) has several full-scholarships available for students from the Netherlands and Dutch Caribbean Islands to attend TFAS’s academic internship programme in Washington, DC.

The programme will be held from 5 June 3021 – 30 July 2021.

The application deadline is 25 January 2021.

The 8-week summer programme includes:

  • An internship placement in Washington, DC.
  • Academic credit from George Mason University.
  • Housing in furnished apartments in downtown Washington.
  • Guest lectures and briefings, as well as opportunities for professional development and networking.

The scholarship covers tuition and housing. Scholarship awardees are responsible for funding their travel to the U.S., living expenses while in the U.S., a required health insurance premium estimated at $700 USD, as well as the costs associated with applying for a student visa, estimated at $150 USD.

The Netherland-America Foundation (NAF) seeks to further strengthen the bonds between The Netherlands and The United States through exchange in the arts, sciences, education, business, and public affairs. The NAF has partnered with TFAS for a decade to provide experiential education opportunities to Dutch university students in Washington, D.C.
