Event: The Future of Organ Trade

Imagine that you could save thousands of lives each year, provided that you would allow all people to freely sell and trade their organs.

Maastricht Students For Liberty and MSV Pulse will organise a special event on the future of organ trade, featuring renowned speakers from Oxford, Prague, Antwerp and Maastricht. The event will take place at SBE on Tuesday 15 April, 19:00. Don’t miss it!

Join Maastricht Students For Liberty and MSV Pulse for an exciting and insightful panel discussion on the topic on the future of organ trade! The event will feature highly renowned academics from the University of Oxford, the CEVRO Institute from Prague, and the Murray Rothbard Institute from Belgium. It will be moderated by Dr. Andreas Herrler from the FHML.

What might sound weird at the beginning – the free trade of human organs on an international basis – might truly become reality one day. With the possibilities for organ preservation and transplantation improving more and more, humankind reached a point at which theoretically for every person needing a new organ, a donor could be found. The only thing still holding back this development though, are questions about its legality and morality.

Is the free trade of organs really the way to go? Is it ethically correct? Would it really work, once put into pratice? And how could you prevent the influence of criminality in this field? All of these questions will be answered during our event, so be sure to join in!
