UM launches FASoS student project ‘QR Code: Are you okay?’

Have you ever experienced confusion (or even helplessness) while trying to establish a support system at UM? FASoS Student Representatives understand these obstacles. They are doing what they can to help streamline the process of finding the support you need at UM.

The Student Representatives are extremely proud to announce that this week marks the launch of a project they helped develop: the QR codes that can now be found in every bathroom.

Often, especially in difficult times, it is not easy to orient ourselves through the resources available to us in Maastricht and at UM. Difficulty in reaching information or help can lead to many unpleasant moments, negatively mark your experience at our university, and place your wellbeing in peril.

This QR codes project was ideated by the Diversity, Inclusivity, Accessibility, and Sustainability working group of the FASoS Student Representatives 2021-2022 to provide a roadmap to help for those who have had troubling or negative experiences in Maastricht. The QR code is, for example, an accessible way to come in contact with the UM confidential adviser, to whom it is possible to report undesirable and inappropriate behaviour.

The QR codes are strategically placed so that you will be able to scan them privately and undisturbed if needed. Once the code is scanned, you will be taken to a downloadable infographic (with clickable links) that will direct you toward the best-suited kind of support for you.

From troubles in settling in Maastricht to psychological support, the QR code has got you covered!
