Urgent: de-registration after final work chance on 30 November

Please read below important information regarding de-registration procedure after final work chance on 30 November.

  • After submission of your final work between 20 and 30 November 2014, you should request de-registration via Studielink as soon as possible (but on 30 November the latest!)
    • Choose 1 December 2014 as your de-registration date;
    • Choose “Termination due to passing the final examination”
  • This de-registration request will be processed as soon as the graduation date is fixed. Expectations are that this will be done in January 2015. You should meet all graduation requirements of course!
    • After you have been de-registered your paid tuition fees are checked. In case you paid too much tuition fees the remaining amount will be refunded.
  • In case you will not pass the 30 November chance your de-registration request will not be processed and consequently your registration stays valid continuously until your graduation (30 June or 31 August). Please note: the restitution regulation does not apply to the months July and August; de-registration during these months is possible but NOT necessary though!
  • If you wish to be de-registered despite a fail, you can send an e-mail to the Student Services Centre: attn. Mr. Hans Smit: hans.smit@maastrichtuniversity.nl. Point out your situation clearly and as of which month you would like your registration to start again.
    • Please note:
      • Intermediate de-registration is not allowed for students with a study visa. It is the university’s duty to report de-registration to the IND within 30 days. Consequently your visa will be rejected.
      • Intermediate de-registration may have consequences for your study finance rights and/or student travel product. Penalties may be given. Read more on the website of DUO.
  • The (compulsory) start date of registration depends on the programme you follow:
    • Bachelor ES: registration needs to take place by 1 January 2015. In other words: intermediate de-registration is not an option.
    • Bachelor CW/AC: registration needs to take place by 1 April (at the latest).
    • Master programmes: registration is required by 1 June (at the latest).
  • Reminder: the restitution regulation does not apply to the months July and August.
