The Bachelor Digital Society (BA DS) is a three-year interdisciplinary BA programme that provides students with knowledge and tools to understand the relationships between digitalisation and social change. Students will learn how to analyse the way digital technologies affect practices in three main domains: society, culture and politics. The BA DS provides a unique opportunity for students to train skills required for a career at the intersection of digital developments and societal changes.

Important to note: the programme director BA DS will receive support from an educational coordinator; the PD can delegate all organisational, logistic and administrative tasks to the educational coordinator.

The Programme Director has responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Giving strategic direction to the programme;
  • Ensure that the programme operates within FASoS’ policies and procedures regarding quality standards, financial sustainability and work load for staff and students;
  • Coordination of teaching staff and interaction with other internal players such as members of the OMT, the board of examiners, MarCom, Finance, Faculty Management, etc;
  • Inform, instruct and evaluate course coordinators and teaching assistants;
  • Be engaged in the FASoS quality care cycles;
  • Act as both administrative and line manager for one or more Teaching Assistants related to the DS programme;
  • Curriculum coordination, development and implementation of the responses to both internal and external developments;
  • Recruitment of new students to the programme on a yearly basis in cooperation with the Marketing and Communications office;
  • Representative functions regarding PR, recruitment and alumni activities;
  • Communication with students.

We are looking for an academic staff member who:

  • Is enthusiastic and has a vision about teaching and the organisation of educational and quality assurance practices in our Faculty;
  • Holds a PhD degree and has prior experience with teaching in this programme;
  • Holds the UTQ/BKO certificate;
  • Is an inspiring leader and team-player;
  • Is willing to go the extra mile on the road of educational improvements;
  • Has strong managerial skills.

The selected candidate is expected to start in August 2020. The remuneration previewed for this position is 500 solver hours.
